Magnolia flowers are among the first to burst into bloom in the spring. They evoke the warm south and have a lovely fragrance. They are also part of The Farm’s heritage, with the first magnolia having been planted in 1897.
A collection in the north-east corner of the Arboretum can be viewed from Prince of Wales Drive, just as you enter The Farm from Dows Lake. It contains eight species, three varieties and has a wonderful showing of flowers during the early spring.
For more information on the magnolias, please contact Friends of the Farm.
