Merivale Shelterbelt
A New Opportunity to be Part of The Farm

Thousands of trees once marked the northern and western boundaries of the Central Experimental Farm.

The Friends of the Farm have begun a project to recreate the boundary forest on this National Historic Site. It will beautify the surroundings, provide a recreational path, protect the fields from salt and soil erosion and help clean the atmosphere.

You can donate to this worthwhile, beautification project in the name of someone you care about. Your contribution will be recognized on a plaque along the path and a tax receipt will be issued.

The shelterbelt and supporters' pavilion was officially opened September 9, 2005 by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor-General of Canada and His Excellency John Ralston Saul.
